Roll Down Quilt Wall

Roll down quilt wall. My homemade roll up design wall. I had the shelf already. Instead of taking the design wall down when it is not in use i pin one out of approx. Seven of the pieced quilt tops that my grandmother mother pieced when working on quilts together close to 55 years ago.
To create the gridlines for placing your blocks mark the fabric every two inches vertically and horizontally then stitch along the grid lines to make a square grid that covers the design wall surface. Use it to try various layouts for your piece work blocks borders and color matching. I have a design wall that is a huge piece of batting tacked to a bright red wall. You make this just like a regular quilt with a layer of flannel on top and a layer of batting behind.
